Role Description

This is a full-time BMS Technician role with some flexibility for remote work, based in Melbourne, Vic.

BMS Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of large building management systems (BMS) and environmental monitoring systems.

Duties will include investigating, troubleshooting, and diagnosing problems, as well as conducting preventative maintenance on BMS equipment and systems.

Engineering / installation works will also be available to suitably qualified candidates.

The BMS Technician will also need to document and report on their work, liaise with site maintenance personnel, and provide technical support on BMS-related issues.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications

  • Experience installing, programming, and maintaining BMS control systems.
  • Experience with Niagara based BMS will be highly regarded including Distech, Honeywell, and EasyIO systems.
  • Knowledge of the various elements within a BMS, including HVAC, fire systems, lighting, and power supply
  • Experience with HVAC and control systems, including chillers, boilers, pumps, and air handling units
  • Understanding of digital and analog controls, sensors, and instrumentation
  • Ability to understand and interpret I/O drawings and specifications
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Relevant technical qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or building services engineering are desirable.
