About the Role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Technician based in Newcastle who is passionate about contributing to the success of our business. You’ll be responsible for the service and maintenance of a variety of commercial Systems across various sites have an allocated run across a variety of sites including Commercial sites, Offices, Retail etc.

Job Description

The Role

  • Monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual testing.
  • Detection, EWIS, OWS, fire doors, fire extinguishers, blankets, hose reels, sprinkler systems (including pre-action), hydrants, gas suppression, exit and emergency lighting.
  • The ability to carry out minor repairs to dry fire systems.
  • Capitalise on the continuation of the maintenance contract base by remaining vigilant to potential repairs, upgrade work and refurbishments.
  • Communicate and engage with your team, work coordinators and management to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Participate in the after hours on call roster.
  • Engage in cross training with some of the best technicians in the industry.

Desired Skills and Experience

Selection Criteria

  • Proven background and experience in fire testing both wet and dry
  • Confidence with computers and software
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, a professional attitude and great personal presentation
  • Curiosity - someone who can work autonomously or in a team environment and is a proactive self-starter.
  • Proven ability to achieve targets while maintaining a focus on quality and safety.
  • Cert II in Fire Protection (desirable)
  • FPAS Accreditation Inspect and Test (desirable)
  • EAHL (desirable)
